Junior Associate- Process & Mechanical Engineering
At Regen Organics, we design and operate breakthrough technologies that transform agricultural residues into valuable biochar products. Our new facility in Mumias, Kakamega is a first-of-its-kind in the region taking crop residues that would otherwise go to waste and upcycling them into soil-enhancing inputs that help farmers, boost food security, and remove carbon from the atmosphere.
Our team is at the core of this new initiative. From installation and commissioning, to ramping up new processes, to trialling improvements, we take ideas from the drawing board to the factory floor and keep our facility running safely and efficiently.
The new biochar facility in Mumias is in its most exciting stage: commissioning, ramp-up, and early operations. This creates an opportunity for young engineers and technicians to get hands-on experience supporting live factory systems, learning how large-scale pyrolysis and material handling processes operate in practice. This is also a rare opportunity to be part of a new production facility as it is established - you get to be part of the decisions that define how the factory will operate and see how the pieces fit together from the ground up.
As a Fellow, you’ll support the engineering team with a mix of technical and practical tasks:
Installation & Commissioning: Assist with setup of mechanical and process equipment, supporting integration and early testing.
Ramp-Up Support: Join engineering shifts during facility start-up, helping monitor, troubleshoot, and stabilise production processes.
Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Process, or related Engineering fields.
Advantageous: experience in factory operations, mechanical maintenance, or running process equipment.
Strong hands-on aptitude: you are comfortable rolling up your sleeves in a factory environment.
Problem-solving mindset: you can think on your feet and adapt to changing situations.
Attention to detail: you keep logs accurate, catch issues early, and help maintain safe processes.
Clear communication: you document your work clearly, share observations, and collaborate well with others.
