Our work is aligned to SDG 6 and we partner with the government to develop and deliver safe sanitation and waste management for urban residents. Fresh Life has been operational since 2011, and currently serves 300,000 urban residents daily across 4 cities. We safely remove approx. 20,000T of sanitation waste per year, and mitigate 30,000 tons of CO2 equivalent from being released into the atmosphere.

About the role
The Fleet & Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management, reliability, and efficiency of all fleet and logistics assets, including trucks, workhorses, handcarts, and operational equipment.
The role ensures high fleet uptime, safe operations, and efficient logistics execution by supervising maintenance officers, drivers, coordinating maintenance activities, and optimizing asset utilization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fleet Operations Management
Supervise daily operations of drivers and logistics assets (trucks, handcarts, workhorses, machines)
Ensure timely deployment of fleet to meet collection, delivery, and operational schedules
Monitor driver performance, route adherence, and productivity
Coordinate closely with logistics operations teams to align fleet availability with demand
Maintenance & Reliability:
Oversee execution of preventive maintenance (PM) and autonomous maintenance (AM) schedules
Ensure timely corrective maintenance and repairs for all fleet and equipment
Track and improve fleet uptime and reliability
Maintain accurate maintenance records and service histories
Coordinate with external garages and vendors where necessary
Asset Management & Utilization
Monitor usage and condition of all fleet and logistics tools
Optimize asset allocation and utilization to reduce downtime and inefficiencies
Track fuel consumption and operational costs, identifying opportunities for savings
Support lifecycle management decisions (repair vs replace)
Safety & Compliance
Enforce strict adherence to road safety, equipment safety, and company policies
Conduct regular vehicle inspections and safety checks
Ensure drivers are trained, licensed, and compliant with regulations
Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving
Identify inefficiencies in fleet operations and maintenance processes
Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
Support structured problem solving and root cause analysis for recurring issues
Team Supervision & Coordination
Supervise and manage drivers and maintenance personnel
Assign daily schedules and monitor execution
Train team members on safe operations, basic maintenance, and SOP adherence
Enforce discipline, accountability, and performance standards
Provide regular feedback and support team development
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of key fleet management metrics
Provide regular updates on performance, risks, and improvement actions
Ensure proper documentation of completed work and resource usage
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
2–4 years’ experience in fleet management, transport operations, or maintenance supervision
Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and fleet operations
Experience managing drivers and field-based teams
Good knowledge of safety and compliance requirements
Strong problem-solving, planning, and coordination skills
Ability to work in fast-paced, operational environments
